First Week: SnOW

Okay, I am staying in my warm little double room that share with GQ. The space are very limited yet we are quite used to it after almost one week of living.

Turns back the pendulum, the things I had done since my laptop battery run out in KLIA will be presented as follow, so be patience and listen to my long story.

The girl sit beside me in airplane is very helpful...in the sense she helped me find the button that allow my back to lean. And there was another girl sit next 2 sit from me...yes she is an Ang Mo so is gorgeous in my eyes. As the seat were so narrow that there was no space at all for me to pass through, I didn't visit washroom for the whole journey. Also, it was because the Chinese girl sit beside me sleeping throughout the whole trip.

I was at Beijing international airport waiting GQ....while reading the book "MAYADA Daughter of Iraq" that I borrowed from SR five years ago. My original plan was that by going together we both can share the taxi fare. However, taxi seem not an option in his eyes. He intended to take subway as suggested by his Tsinghua friend. That was a brilliant idea thinking we both are holding super big luggage. Ok, I have an option for him, the air port bus express. As taught by LH and search result from Baidu, Zhong Guan Chun is the place. It was cheap, only cost 16RMB.
So here comes the funny part, only until the 6th taxi uncle that we asked is familiar with the route to Tsinghua. Beijing is really big huh. 20 bucks for that.

Block 19: check in. Block 22: international student registration office, Block 23: my block, between block 22 and 21: nice food court. Lucky, there are 2 business guys stay just a few rooms from ours. KH is really a connection link that eventually form a team of 15+ hang around gang. But in the start there was only 4 of us. Guys gang huh?!

Eventually, GQ and I get our SIM cards, bicycles, bank account, and dining card. We learned the lesson of salt in BZ BBQ shop, the amount of fried rice in hostel canteen, the sweet in corn soup and the best BBQ fish in Zhao He Lan. Yea the group is growing. Finally I get to know somebody from Law faculty. 3 female lawyers! Oh my gosh. And among the gals, XY is my type!! Wondering is she attached?

Today is the last day of Chinese new year, we known it as yuan xiao but here, the English translation is lantern festival. Well in that case, what will be the one for zhong qiu jie?? By law, today is the last day that fireworks can play legally so there are fireworks blossom in every corner of the town. We tried out subway today...again its culture shocking. There is only one kind of fare....just pay 2 yuan and u may go anywhere you wish.

The highlight of lantern festival in China is so called deng hui or the showcase of lantern, and the signature place to watch such event is Beijing is located at Qian Men. Before that we been to Xidan for window cloth shopping. It was really a great place to shop!! I spent around 300 RMB and got 3 long sleeve shirts and one ADD sport pants.

SNOW!! I can't believe it! It was snowing. The snow was so tiny that you can hardly realize it's present. I took a few pictures of it and felt great that finally I have a chance to see snowing. Ops, the snow it's getting bigger and bigger and finally it's irritating. It is in fact nothing different with raining. It falls on your hair and turns to water by receiving the precious heat from you body. All right I was carrying a wet head in winter.

Myth buster !! Qian Men deng hui is nothing but a show of how crowded in Beijing!!

Well GQ is preparing to sleep so I better stop now. Not bad, second post after a week.

TBcontinue.
